Life At LAFS Vine Challenge

We’re holding a “Life At LAFS” Vine video challenge for our students and alumni. You have until tomorrow, Friday, May 24th at 1pm PST to create a 6 second Vine video with the following stipulations:

1) Create a Vine video that represents your life at LAFS and include the following three elements:

  1. A face
  2. Something that says “The Los Angeles Film School”
  3. Something that represents the program you are in (or graduated from)

You can create as many Vine videos as you want! Each Vine will count as a separate entry.

2) Vine videos must be uploaded to the Vine app using the hashtag #LifeatLAFS. Previously made Vines before contest launch are not permitted.

3) Participants must share their Vine video onto their Twitter account with the hashtag #LifeatLAFS and tag @lafilmschool

4)  Participants must follow The Los Angeles Film School on at least one of the following social media outlets: @lafilmschool on Twitter, @losangelesfilmschool on Instagram and Facebook.

The winner will be announced on our social media outlets and their Vine video will be shared

Participants must be a student or alumni of The Los Angeles Film School

Contest ends Friday, May 24th,  24 hours from when this was posted. The winning Vine will be reviewed and selected by the Marketing team.

Winner receives:

· Announcement on the Brain Blog, LAFS website, student newsletter and LAFS’ social media sites
· Vine Video shares on LAFS’ Vine, Twitter and Facebook pages

Yoshiko, Toru’s precocious 13 year old daughter, takes it upon herself to solve the mystery of this man, especially after two detectives come knocking on their door in the middle of the night.

LA Live Vine Contest

L.A. LIVE just launched an exciting Vine contest to help promote the Los Angeles Film Festival taking place here at Regal Cinemas from June 13th – 23rd. The contest entails creating a Vine video in a genre of your choice (selected from 6 pre-determined genres) and submitting it via Twitter with our hash tag #LALIVEtake6 (in addition to liking their pages). The contest runs now through June 6th.

The top 3 winners receive some great prizes. The “Ultimate LA Film Fest Packages” include seeing an advanced screening of Man of Steel, seats to a Spike Jonze conversation, announcements on both L.A. Andrew Wilson

Andrew started at Evolution Management, where he was instrumental in shepherding the ultra-successful horror franchise SAW to the big screen (he took the credit of  Consigliere for the first film).  During his 11-year stint at Evolution, Andrew began managing high profile clients such as horror/fantasy legend Clive Barker, and filmmaker Darren Bousman whose collective worldwide film grosses are nearing half of a billion dollars.  Wilson was also able to develop, package and produce LOTTERY TICKET starring Ice Cube for Warner Brothers while at Evolution, before moving on to the next phase of his career.  Andrew joined the already successful Zero Gravity team in Spring 2012 and continues to represent some of the most exciting writers and directors in the industry (including Tobe Hooper who directed Texas Chainsaw Massacre) with an eye towards furthering his efforts as a producer under the Zero Gravity banner.

 

Adam Simon

Writer-Director Adam Simon sold his script “The Haunting in Connecticut” to Lionsgate which went on to gross $77 Million worldwide.  Adam directed the documentary “American Nightmare” as well as cult classics “Carnosaur” and “Brain Dead” for Roger Corman.

 

Kailey Marsh

Kailey is a lit manager and film producer.  She is founder of The Blood List, the annual list of the top 13 most-liked screenplays in the horror, thriller, sci fi, fantasy, or dark comedy/drama genres as voted on by 100 industry insiders.

 

Misha Green

Misha is a rising star in the world of Hollywood TV and film writing.  She has written for Spartacus, Sons of Anarchy, Heroes among others, and she has sold spec screenplays all over town.

 

Mickey Keating

Exciting newcomer Mickey Keating wrote and directed RITUAL, a retro style horror film that has been picked up by After Dark Films and Lionsgate, to be released soon!  He currenlty works at Blumhouse Productions (producer of Paranormal Activity, Sinister, and Insidious).

Heather Wixson is an online journalist covering the horror genre with DreadCentral.com. An advocate for independent genre filmmaking, Wixson created DC’s Indie Horror Month which runs every March and successfully launched the CineMayhem Film Fest earlier this year in Thousand Oaks, CA. Wixson also currently handles Marketing, Distribution and Digital Media for Imagination Worldwide, an independent sales and distribution company.

KAFFNY also considers works outside the Korean nexus featuring at least one key creative member of Korean heritage, regardless of the subject matter.
